Tropical Fruit Dessert

Preheat oven to 400°. Drain tropical fruit salad; reserve juice and set aside.

Combine brown sugar and cornstarch in a small bowl. Stir in reserved tropical fruit juice. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a 2-quart saucepan; stir in brown sugar mixture with wire whisk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick and bubbly (3 to 5 minutes). (Mixture will be very thick). Gently stir in tropical fruit and mandarin oranges. Continue cooking until heated throught (3 -4 minutes).

Stir together all topping incredients in a medium bowl. Set aside. Butter a 2 quart casserole dish.

Immediately pour hot mixture into prepared casserole dish. Drop 8 equal portions of topping mixture onto hot, bubbly filling. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and filling is bubbly around edges. Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream, if desired.
