Mott Haven Banana Bread

My very favorite banana bread recipe. Extra moist and dense.

Cream sugar and butter until smooth and pale. Add beaten eggs and mashed bananas and stir in with a fork. Mix well. Sift dry ingredients and stir into creamed mixture. Do not over stir. Spread into a greased loaf pan. (approx. 8 1/2 x 4 1/2") Bake for about 50 minutes or until cake tester comes out dry when tested in center. Let bread cool in pan five minutes. Loosen edges and turn onto metal rack to cool completely. Store wrapped.
