1 1/2	Cups	Sugar
1	Pinch	Salt
1	Cup	Shortening or lard
1/2	Tsp.	Soda, dissolved in
		3 Tbsp. milk
3	Eggs	Beaten
2	Cups	Flour, sifted with
		1 Tsp. allspice
3	Cups	Oatmeal (add last)

Cream together the sugar, salt and shortening; add soda dissolved in milk and beaten eggs, alternately with flour. Add oatmeal. Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full and bake at 350° for approximately 20-25 minutes or until brown.
